Welcome Dr Queenie Ong | 1/04/2025

We are excited to welcome Dr Ong to the Scope Orthodontics famil and to help us continue to provide the very best in orthodontic care for our patients. Dr Ong will be at Scope Orthodontics Tuesday to Friday. Dr Munt will continue care for our patients Monday to Wednesday.

Dr Queenie Ong was born and raised in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. She moved to the UK in 2010 to pursue dentistry at The University of Sheffield and graduated with honours in 2015. She spent a year in general dental practice in Middlesbrough. In her pursuit for career progression, Queenie underwent further postgraduate training in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the York District Hospital and later at the Queen's Medical Centre, a major trauma centre in Nottingham. She has also served in a community dental setting within the field of Paediatric Dentistry, which provided dental care for children and young adults with additional needs. Her desire to make a difference led Queenie to undertake an academic fellowship in Public Dental Health. During this time, she worked alongside dental and medical professionals and led various campaigns to raise public awareness of child dental health.
Whilst Queenie has enjoyed a variety of dental specialties, she has always remained passionate about a career in orthodontics. She completed a 3-year Master's degree in Orthodontics at the University of Manchester in 2022 and received her Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) at the Royal College of Surgeons of England that same year, being awarded the J K Williams Medal for achieving the highest score of any candidate assessed by the College. She later embarked on a 2-year training programme under the National Health Service to diversify her experience in complex multidisciplinary cases including orthognathic surgery, hypodontia and cleft care. She completed an Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Exam in Orthodontics in 2024, which finalised her orthodontic training in the UK.
Queenie moved to Perth, Australia in 2025 to be closer to her family. Outside of orthodontics, she enjoys fitness, dining, and the great outdoors. She spends her weekends with her husband and two ragdoll cats, Tofu and Mochi.
Queenie believes in providing a personalised approach and holistic care for her patients. She is fully committed to help them achieve their best smile.
